Julia Caston is an Emmy Award - nominated costume designer with extensive experience in film and television. Known for her thoughtful character driven designs and collaborative sprit.

Most recently, Julia’s work can be seen in Disney + Descendants franchise Descendants 4 – the Rise of Red and the upcoming Descendants 5- Wicked Wonderland as well as the holiday movie The Naughty Nine directed by Alberto Belli. She has also built a strong and on going working relationship with directors Jon Lucus and Scott Moore, collaborating with them on hit comedies including Bad Moms, A Bad Moms Christmas and Jexi.

Julia began her career in television and thrives in the fast paced, script driven environment of episodic storytelling. She is recognized for her work on all nine seasons of The award winning ABC series The Middle, created by DeAnn Heline and Eileen Heisler. Her television credits also include Robert Carlock and Tina Fey created shows The Mayor starring Ted Danson and Holly Hunter , Great News starring Nicole Richie and Tina Fey ; and Mulaney created by and starring John Mulaney as well as Elliott Gould and Martin Short.

In the independent film world, Julia has demonstrated a remarkable ability to craft visually compelling costumes while working within smaller budgets. Her independent films include 28 Hotel Rooms (premiered at Sundance film festival) directed by Matt Ross; Celeste and Jesse forever (premiered at Sundance film festival) directed by Lee Toland Krieger: The 1940’s black and white drama Treasure Island ( Sundance film festival :won special jury prize) directed by Scott King and the 1980’s punk rock bio picture What We Do Is Secret (New Port film festival winner) directed by Rodger Grossman.
